IPL 2026 Points Table: Live Standings, NRR Rankings & Playoff Race

The IPL 2026 Points Table tracks the live standings of all 10 teams across both groups throughout the league stage. With 84 matches to play across 13 venues, every win and every run matters as teams fight for one of four coveted playoff spots. Below is a guide to understanding the IPL 2026 Points Table, the format, and what to watch for this season.

How the IPL 2026 Points Table Works

  • Win: 2 points
  • Loss: 0 points
  • No Result / Abandoned: 1 point each
  • Tie (Super Over): Winner gets 2 points, loser gets 0
  • Tiebreaker: Net Run Rate (NRR) separates teams level on points

IPL 2026 Groups

Group A: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings

Group B: Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants

IPL 2026 League Stage Format

Each team plays 14 matches in the league stage. They face each team in their own group twice (home and away — 8 matches) and each team in the opposite group once (6 matches). The top 4 teams from the combined standings of both groups advance to the playoffs.

Understanding Net Run Rate (NRR)

Net Run Rate is calculated as: (Total Runs Scored ÷ Total Overs Faced) minus (Total Runs Conceded ÷ Total Overs Bowled). A positive NRR means a team is scoring faster than they concede, while a negative NRR indicates the opposite. In closely contested seasons, NRR can be the difference between making the playoffs and going home — so every ball counts.

IPL 2026 Playoffs Qualification

The top 4 teams from the combined points table advance to the playoffs:

  • 1st & 2nd: Play Qualifier 1 — winner goes straight to the final
  • 3rd & 4th: Play Eliminator — loser is out
  • Loser of Q1 faces Winner of Eliminator in Qualifier 2 for the second final spot
