Indian cricket’s biggest stars gathered in the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand on Saturday, March 14, as Kuldeep Yadav married his childhood sweetheart Vanshika Chadha in a grand ceremony at the iconic Savoy Hotel. The wedding, held just 14 days before IPL 2026 begins on March 28, became a star-studded celebration of both personal joy and cricket camaraderie — with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma and Yuzvendra Chahal among those who attended.
Kuldeep was a key member of the Indian squad that won the T20 World Cup 2026 by defeating New Zealand in the final on March 8 — just six days before his wedding. The timing made the celebrations even more special: a World Cup victory followed immediately by one of cricket’s most eagerly awaited weddings. The Wedding: Everything That Happened
The wedding festivities began on Friday, March 13, with Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies at the Savoy Hotel. The entire hotel had been booked exclusively for the event for two to three days. Yuzvendra Chahal — Kuldeep’s closest friend in cricket, the other half of the famous “KulCha” spin duo — arrived in Dehradun the day before and was in fine form at the Haldi ceremony, dancing enthusiastically to dhol beats and smearing haldi on the groom. Chahal had told ANI ahead of the celebrations: “I am looking forward to my brother’s wedding. I will dance a lot.”
The main ceremony took place on Saturday, March 14, with a guest list that read like a who’s who of Indian cricket. Tilak Varma — T20 World Cup 2026 champion and Mumbai Indians batter — arrived from Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport and told IANS he would “enjoy the wedding before getting into preparation for IPL 2026.” India’s fielding coach T. Dilip posted a heartfelt congratulatory message on social media: “So happy to see @kuldeep_18 marry the love of his life. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless blessings.”
A grand reception is being planned for March 17 at Hotel Centrum in Lucknow, where Kuldeep and Vanshika are both from. Former India captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and former India great Sunil Gavaskar are among those expected to be present.
Who Is Vanshika Chadha?
Vanshika Chadha is Kuldeep’s childhood friend — the two grew up just three kilometres apart in Kanpur. She currently works as an employee of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The couple got engaged in a private ceremony in Lucknow in 2025. The wedding was originally scheduled for November 2025, but Kuldeep asked for it to be postponed so he could focus entirely on India’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.
Kuldeep Yadav in IPL 2026: Playing for Delhi Capitals
With the wedding celebrations wrapping up just 11 days before IPL 2026 begins, Kuldeep Yadav will now turn his full attention to cricket. He will represent Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026, where he has been one of their most consistent performers since joining the franchise. Under captain Axar Patel and coach Hemang Badani, DC will be hoping Kuldeep — fresh from a T20 World Cup and a wedding — brings joy and wickets to their campaign from day one.
DC’s first Phase 1 fixture is LSG vs DC on April 1 at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. They also face MI on April 4, GT on April 8 and CSK on April 11. Read the DC IPL 2026 Squad and check the IPL 2026 Captains guide.
Kuldeep’s T20 World Cup 2026
In the T20 World Cup 2026, Kuldeep played one match for India — the group stage game against Pakistan in Colombo. He bowled three economical overs, conceding just 14 runs and picking up 1 wicket. India went on to beat Pakistan comprehensively and eventually defeated New Zealand in the final on March 8 to lift the trophy. Kohli, Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav were among the stars at the wedding — all T20 World Cup winners now preparing for the IPL.
The Cricket World Celebrates
The Kuldeep-Vanshika wedding is the feel-good story of Indian cricket’s pre-IPL period. With the T20 World Cup freshly won and the IPL just days away, the wedding brought together the Indian cricket community in a moment of pure celebration — and served as a reminder that behind the rivalries, records and franchise loyalties, these cricketers are a genuine brotherhood.
