IPL 2026 Schedule Format Explained

The IPL 2026 schedule uses an expanded home-and-away format for the first time in IPL history. The 10 teams are split into two groups of five. The top four teams from the combined standings advance to the playoffs.

Group A: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings

Group B: Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants

This new format means every team plays at their home ground multiple times, giving fans more opportunities to watch their favourite teams live. The IPL 2026 schedule is the longest in IPL history at 65 days. Read our full IPL 2026 Venues guide for stadium details.
